Since 1979, the Department of Health Systems Management has been preparing future health care leaders with its innovative practitioner-teacher model, where learning is facilitated by real-world executives and health care leaders. Now, as Health Systems Management celebrates its 30th anniversary, the program also looks ahead to its future with the launch of a campaign to support the next generation of health care leaders. |
At a time when applications are up but competition for the top students is stronger than ever, the Health Systems Management program aims to establish a $500,000 endowment — more than doubling the scholarship dollars available for student recruitment.
Gifts to the Health Systems Management 30th Anniversary Campaign will enable us to accomplish the following:
• Enhance our ability to compete with top programs by expanding our portfolio of scholarship awards
• Take financial concerns out of the equation for the finest students
• Improve our outreach to talented young people who, through our efforts, will learn that health care leadership is a rewarding and fulfilling career
|
The campaign was announced at the Health Systems Management 30th Anniversary Celebration in August and will continue into 2010. It is co-chaired by Andrew Garman, associate professor and associate chair, and Mary Malone, 1985 HSM alumna (pictured at right). |
